These Trios are by CPE Bach, who was the oldest son of the great JS. There are also some Haydn Baryton trios in this list. I do not know what Baryton means, but they are mighty fine - with the humour we expect of Haydn, but also some of his dark side, which I find surprising in chamber music of this kind. After all, Haydn wrote a lot of operas which are not performed today, all those many symphonies, and so much besides, that you would think his chamber music is the happy outpouring - yet these are curiously sombre in parts. At least, that's what I think.
