Business description
Classical.com provides the world's largest and most comprehensive specialist music service for Classical, Jazz & Blues and World music. Customers enjoy ownership of music as downloads (MP3 in 192k high quality) or by subscription which includes unlimited listening (streaming at 128k, the same quality as downloads from iTunes) and selected free album downloads.

Privacy policy
Your privacy is always maintained on Classical.com where we use current industry standards to protect all our customers’ information. This matter is dealt with in more detail at the end of this document.

Information collected: We collect your email address, name and postal address in order to process your credit card purchases when you enter your card information for payment. We use your email address plus password is used to identify you when you are on the site to enable us to create a section with your downloads after you purchase them, playlists you have assembled and recommendations of recordings we believe you will enjoy.
 
Usage of personal information: Your email address is used to send you updates about the music and special offers if you have opted in to receive communications from the company.

Sharing of your information: We do not provide your information to third parties unless you have specifically opted in to a programme to share your information for particular purposes.

Your control of the information we hold: the Account section of the site gives you control over your email address, password and other information collected in the purchasing process, and whether we use your information to make special offers. You can correct any inaccuracies you find in the information about you.

Email marketing: you have full control in the Account section of whether you receive email marketing messages from us about the music and updates to the service.

Security processes: we have monitoring software in place to ensure that customer information held on our servers is not compromised, and the ability to block hackers and other parties which attempt to compromise our service and the security of our systems.

Credit card processing: the credit card number are related information you enter into the website when making a purchase of downloads or a subscription is held by PayPal who process card transactions for the Company, and the security arrangements with PayPal are of the highest security levels recommended for transactions of this nature. In ten years of selling music recordings we have not had cases of customer credit cards being compromised as a result of use on the Company's websites.

Delivery policy
After purchasing a download (whether a track or an album) you will be directed to the Download section of the website where your recordings are displayed, ready to be copied to your computer.

After purchasing a subscription you will automatically be re-directed to the subscriber version of the website, where full tracks will play for the duration of your subscription. You will also have access to weekly free albums.

Customers can purchase all the recordings on the Company's websites in any country of the world, whether downloads or streaming subscriptions. Customers can also see a list of all purchases made in the Account section of the website.

Refund / Cancellation policy
Downloads: Our customers can request a refund on any recording which is defective or does not meet their expectations. Downloads of tracks and albums may be corrupted when transmitted to the customer's computer, and refunds of any defective recordings are carried out if the customer notifies customer service of any problem whatsoever.
Subscriptions: Our customers can cancel their subscription at any time. The link to cancel is in the Account section. Subscriptions to the unlimited listening music service will renew until cancelled, or the credit card expires which will trigger automatic cancellation of the subscription.
Customer service responds to all issues sent to customer feedback within 2-4 days. Communications to customer service reps should have the words 'customer feedback' in the subject line to receive prompt attention, and should be sent to conductor@classical.com

This online music service on the www.classical.com website is provided by Classical World Ltd. as a resource for accessing recordings and information about specialist music – Classical, Jazz and Blues and World Music on the Internet. It may be the case that you are accessing this service and content through a third party service which is licensed by Classical World Ltd. to distribute this service and content. If so, then these Terms and Conditions shall be supplemental to the prevailing Terms and Conditions of the third party service provider via whom you are accessing this service. In the event of conflict between these Terms and Conditions and the Terms and Conditions of the third party service provider then those of the third party service provider shall prevail save for clauses 1 and 2 hereof which shall always remain in full force and effect.

Classical.com collect two types of information about the users who visit our site:

1) Individual data - this is information that users provide through voluntary registration and the other forms in the ‘My Account’ section of the site. The information gathered here is concerned with validating you as a user, recognising your preferences, maintaining your music locker and processing your purchases. For instance, we can ensure that the menu options most relevant to you are highlighted for you, and offer you order tracking functionality. However, you are only asked to provide this information on registration, and users can access our home page and browse some of the content on our site without disclosing personal data.
Classical.com will NEVER divulge individual data to a third party except with the user’s consent.

2) General Data - we may, from time-to-time, track users as they navigate our site. This information is primarily concerned with helping us to understand the needs and habits of our users, so we can better tailor our service to your requirements and personalise music selections for you. Tracking in this manner produces general aggregated information on our users, which may be provided to our partners as indications of market trends and used by our staff in product development. The information provided to partners would not enable individual users to be identified.
We have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online to prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information.

8. Cookies

We may send a small file to your computer when you visit our website, called a ‘cookie’. This will enable us to track your experience on our website and to identify your particular areas of interest so that we can improve our level of service to you. We may use cookies to collect and store personal data and we link information stored by cookies with personal data you supply to us. The only personal information a cookie can contain is information you supply yourself.

Disclosure of information
In the unlikely event that a liquidator, administrator or receiver is appointed over the Company, or all or any part of our assets, that insolvency practitioner may transfer your information to a third party purchaser of the business provided that purchaser undertakes to use your information for the same purposes as set out in this policy. We undertake not to provide your personal information to third parties save in accordance with this policy. Your information will not be disclosed to government or local authorities or other government institutions save as required by law or other binding regulations.

Security measures
We have implemented security policies, rules and technical measures to protect the personal data that we have under our control from unauthorised access, improper use and disclosure, unauthorised destruction or accidental loss. From time to time hackers can access files on even the best-protected sites, however the Company utilises some of the most up to date software and procedures to keep this risk to the level of the best sites in the industry. We do not hold any of your credit card information  – credit card and debit card information is held separately by PayPal, one of the largest credit card transaction companies in the world.

You may ask us whether we are storing personal information about you by emailing us at conductor@classical.com and, if you wish (and upon payment of a fee of £10), we will provide you with a copy of the personal data we hold about you by email. We will ask for proof of your identity before providing any information and reserve the right to refuse to provide information requested if identity is not established. You can also view the information we hold about you in the Account section when logged into the site.
