High Classics

While we often talk about classical music to describe all music written by old men in powdered wigs, the term "Classical period" refers specifically to music written between about 1750 and 1830. This week we highlight three typical examples of this period, so have a listen to works by Mozart, Beethoven and Haydn.

Romantic Music
The romantic era of the nineteenth century saw huge, expansive works, often performed by large orchestras playing shimmering and swooping melodies, expressing the full breadth of human emotion
