The tenor Silvano Santagata studied flute at the Conservatoire of Genoa, before studying singing with Rosetta Noli. He has performed at major Italian festivals including Genoa's Festival di Villa Imperiale, Turin's Settembre Musica and the Serate Musicali in Milan. His singing has taken him to France, Switzerland, Germany and Sweden, where he recently performed Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle. Other notable performances include the premiere of Angelo Canepa's Ode Columbus at the Teatro dell'Opera in Genoa, singing Turridu in Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana, and roles in the operettas The Merry Widow, Frasquita and Sogno di un valzer. Silvano Santagata's recent recordings include Mozart's Requiem and Stradella's opera Moro per Amore.
