Now resident in Vienna, American pianist Norman Shetler studied in Kansas City and New York before completing his studies at Vienna's Musikhochschule. He has since performed all over the world, collaborating with distinguished musicians such as Nathan Milstein, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau and Gidon Kremer. He has made more than 70 recordings and is professor for Lied Interpretation at the Vienna Musikhochschule.

Norman Shetler is also a passionate and skilful puppeteer, and has performed his musical puppet show at the Berlin State Opera, the Vienna Musikverein, and at the Schleswig-Holstein-Musik-Festival. He also feels a duty to expose the less serious world of classical music to the concert-going public in the tradition of humorists Gerard Hoffnung, Victor Borge and Spike Jones.
