Johann (Wenzel Anton) Stamitz

Johann Anton Stamitz, brother of Karl Stamitz, was born in Mannheim in November of 1754.

Like his brother, he studied the violin with his father, Johann Wenzel Stamitz.

With Karl, he visited Paris, where he held the office of "ordinaire de la musique du roi."

Johann Anton Stamitz died in Paris and was the composer of thirteen symphonies, three piano concerti, several violin concerti, fifty quartets and many trios and duets.
