(Johann) Carl (Gottfried) Loewe
German Born 30 Nov 1796 Died 20 Apr 1869Löwe was professor of music at Lyceum at Halle and music-director at Stettin.
Often he sang accompanied himself with the piano, as it was custom in that times.
Löwe was the Schubert of North: he wrote especially ballades, a not-severe and very lyric form: he was a great of this kind.
Today, unfortunately, his work are performed very rarely
