Henri Rabaud
French Born 10 Nov 1873 Died 11 Sep 1949Henri Rabaud, the son of a violincello professor and a singer, was a pupil of Gédalge and Massenet at the Paris Conservatoire, where he succeeded Fauré as director in 1920.
He was conservative as a composer and known for his catch phrase "modernism is the enemy".
He was also active as a conductor and directed the Opéra orchestra for ten years.
