Germaine Tailleferre

French Born 19 Apr 1892 Died 07 Nov 1983

One of the lesser known members of the so-called Les Six group of composers (with Poulenc, Milhaud, Auric, Durey and Honegger), Germaine Tailleferre was influenced by the clarity and simplicity of Satie, and by her teacher Ravel.

She wrote music that was generally light-weight in style with occasional excursions into new techniques, without ever deserting her original inspiration.
