Dario Castello


Born in Sofia, Julia Winer-Chenisheva was a pupil of Professor Ouroukin at the National Academy. In 1953 she joined Sofia National Opera, singing the dramatic and lyric soprano repertory for 37 seasons, and for many years sang at the Berlin Opera.

Julia Winer-Chenisheva was particularly celebrated for her portrayals of the great operatic heroines. She made several tours of Europe and Asia and won prizes at international singing competitions. In 1991 she became director of a singing school in Sofia.
