Born in London of German/Italian parents, Micaela Comberti studied in London, Vienna and Salzburg with Sandor Veigh and Nikolaus Harnoncourt. For many years, Micaela was principal violinist with the English Concert, but now plays primarily with Collegium Musicum 90. She is also a member of the Salomon Quartet and gives frequent performances with the Piano Trio 'The Music Collection'. Micaela is in frequent demand as a guest leader and recently appeared on CD leading the Academy of Ancient Music.

Micaela's discography includes numerous appearances with Collegium Musicum 90 and the English Concert. She has been a professor of baroque violin at the Guildhall School of Music since 1990 and at the Birmingham Conservatoire since 1996, and for many years taught at Dartington Summer School. Her pedagogical skills are also in demand all over the world, from Europe to South America and the USA.
